How Hypnosis & Visualization Can Affect Your Attachment Style

The most common question that I get is always “How did you get to Secure Attachment?”

The short answer: hypnosis & visualization.

And when I say that, I do not mean that I put myself in a trance and repeated some kind of lame mantra about no longer being anxiously attached.

What I mean is I used hypnosis & visualization to get to the root of my anxious attachment— the childhood wounds that caused the anxious attachment, and I used hypnosis & visualization to release that trauma.

I also visualized an entirely different childhood. One that had all the hallmarks of a secure upbringing. You see, when you visualize in detail, your brain does not know if it’s actually happening, or if it’s merely a visualization. So when you visualize a new, better, childhood, you start laying the foundation for a different present. When you repeat this visualization, you strengthen the neural pathway that would yield secure attachment.

So in short…you can use hypnosis & visualization to quite literally re-wire your brain into that of someone with secure attachment.

There are also a few other ways that I used hypnosis & visualization to become secure & capable of being in a stable relationship. These include mental rehearsal, facing my worst fears, and having difficult conversations.
